It has been more than a month since the US-Israeli attack on Iran. Thousands of people have been killed, millions have been displaced, and part of society’s social infrastructure has been destroyed, as a result of these attacks and the ongoing war.
The constant threats of expanding attacks and bombings of economic infrastructure and nuclear centers, keeping the shadow of the complete destruction of the most important arteries of social and economic life high, have increased the risk of immediate sacrifice of thousands of people and the gradual death of millions of people in Iran and the region.
This war, contrary to the claims of its perpetrators and supporters, is not to help the Iranian people. These attacks and the promise of more attacks are not to pave the way for the freedom of the Iranian people, nor in defense of the Iranian people’s struggle to get rid of the Islamic Republic! This is a war against the people and their forty-plus years of struggle to achieve freedom, prosperity, and security.
The victory of either side in the war is not the victory of the Iranian people, who had been working to build their humane and free future before this war. The Iranian people and their struggle for freedom are the first victims and losers of this war.
The destructive effects of this war on the lives and needs of the Iranian people’s freedom movement are undeniable today more than ever.
To defend the lives and security of the people of Iran, to defend the achievements of their struggle and to support the efforts of successive generations for freedom and a humane life, this war must be stopped immediately and unconditionally.
We consider this demand to be the minimum demand that can be put into effect by the universal power of the world and the people in Iran, and not only minimize the damage, but also pave the way for the people in Iran to advance towards achieving their freedom-seeking ideals.
We call on all labor unions, organizations and institutions defending human rights and civilized peoples of the world to pressure the warring parties to immediately and unconditionally stop the war.
